For 36 years, the Community Development Block Grants have assisted local governments by providing funding  to address  affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization needs.  The US Senate voted, as part of its budget reductions measures, to cut the CDBG program by nearly two-thirds.  Local Government officials from around the country are gearing up for a fight to preserve this program.
