During the Summer Conference, the MACo Board of Directors met to confirm two new members to the MACo leadership team. Prince George’s County Councilmember Ingrid Turner was voted to serve as MACo Treasurer, while Charles County Commissioner Edith Patterson was voted to serve on the MACo Board of Directors.
Councilmember Turner has served on the MACo Board of Directors since 2006, and has also represented Prince George’s County on the MACo Legislative Committee for that same period. She served during the 2010 legislative session as chair of MACo’s Education Committee as well. Ms. Turner graduated from the United States Naval Academy, and received her law degree from Catholic University.
Edith Patterson has served on the Charles County Board of Commissioners since 2005, and currently serves as its Vice President. Previously, Dr. Patterson served 12 years on the Charles County Board of Education, serving during her tenure as both its President and Vice President. She has received degrees from from Virginia Union University and Bowie State College, and her Ed. D. from George Washington University. She was recently appointed by the Governor to serve as one of the MACo representatives to the Blue Ribbon Commission on Transportation Funding.
