In an interview with the Frederick News Post, Governor O’Malley articulated his position on highway user revenues (HUR) and teacher pension funding. When asked about HURs, the Governor stated, “I would like to be able to find a way to restore the funding, but you can’t restore what you don’t have.”
The Governor offered a similar response on teacher pension funding. He said, “I am not a fan of shifting costs to the counties…can’t expect counties to pay what they don’t have.”
