Legislation to address concerns raised about recent State stormwater regulations is being reconsidered in light of strong opposition to the recent stormwater compromise by Senator Paul Pinsky. Senator Pinsky, who is the active chair of the committee that would review the new compromise regulations, has characterized the compromise as an “abomination” and would likely delay or try to significantly amend the compromise regulations. This opposition has caused House Environmental Matters Chair Maggie McIntosh, who brokered the compromise, to reschedule a hearing on HB 1125 for Wednesday, March 24. The hearing will be sponsor-only. The bill would be amended to reflect the compromise.
