Full Steam Ahead

With a new four-year term on the horizon, Maryland’s county leaders have a unique opportunity to set the course for the years ahead. This conference will deliver county government fundamentals alongside in-depth discussions of the major policy issues shaping the 2027 legislative session and beyond. Newly elected officials and experienced leaders alike will strengthen relationships with county, state, and legislative partners while exploring the challenges and opportunities facing local government—from fiscal sustainability, housing affordability, and energy policy to artificial intelligence, workforce development, and evolving state and federal priorities. By building a strong foundation of knowledge, fostering meaningful connections, and embracing innovative approaches to governance, Maryland’s counties will move Full Steam Ahead to serve their communities with confidence and purpose.

MACo’s Newly Elected Officials Orientation (for new County Executives, Council Members, and Commissioners ONLY) will be held on January 5, as a pre-conference offering.

More details about MACo’s Winter Conference (including registration, hotel blocks, exhibits, and sponsorships) will be available soon, but interested speakers are encouraged to review the Call for Proposals and submit suggestions by September 24.
