Schneider Electric Recognized as World’s Most Sustainable Company for Third Consecutive Year

Schneider Electric, a Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) Corporate Partner, has announced it was named TIME Magazine and Statista’s World’s Most Sustainable Company for the third consecutive year.

The annual ranking evaluates 5,000 of the world’s largest and most influential companies based on sustainability performance. Schneider Electric said the recognition reflects its long-term commitment to integrating sustainability into its business strategy, governance, and operations.

The announcement comes as the company launches Impact 2030, its newest sustainability roadmap. The initiative focuses on four strategic priorities:

  • Electrifying the world
  • Reinventing industry
  • Unlocking human potential
  • Empowering local communities

According to Schneider Electric’s first-quarter 2026 results, the company has:

  • Reduced Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 82.5% compared with its 2017 baseline.
  • Helped customers save or electrify 47.5 million megawatt-hours of energy.
  • Avoided or eliminated 20 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions during the quarter.
  • Expanded its Zero Carbon Pathway initiative to more than 1,100 suppliers to reduce emissions throughout its supply chain.

The company also highlighted investments in communities and workforce development. During the first quarter, Schneider Electric reported that more than 2.8 million people benefited from community-focused sustainable electricity initiatives, while 113,000 people participated in technical education and training programs related to energy, electrification, and automation.

In addition to this latest recognition, Schneider Electric noted it is the only company to rank first twice in Corporate Knights’ Global 100 sustainability rankings and has appeared on CDP’s Climate A List for 15 consecutive years.
