Anne Arundel Council primary election results show which candidates came out on top this week.
The Anne Arundel County Council includes seven members each elected by district.
District 1 – Kelly M. Smith (D) won the Democratic primary and will face Justin Sherlock (R) who ran unopposed in November. District 1 incumbent Pete Smith (D) lost in the Democratic primary for Anne Arundel County Executive.
District 2 – Catelyn Middlebrooks (D) won in the Democratic primary and will face Cory Malinowski (R) who ran unopposed in November. District 2 incumbent Allison Pickard (D) won in the Democratic primary for Anne Arundel County Executive.
District 3 – Incumbent Nathan Volke (R) ran uncontested and will continue on to the General Election in November and face Rebecca Baucom (D).
District 4 – Incumbent Julie Hummer (D) beat challenger Josh Peters and will face Thomas Dale Wieland (R), who ran unopposed, in November.
District 5 – Incumbent Amanda Fiedler (R) and Johnny Mercer (D) both ran unopposed and will face off in November.
District 6 – Gavin Buckley (D) won the Democratic primary and will face George Gallagher (R) who ran unopposed in November. District 6 incumbent Lisa Rodvien (D) did not seek reelection.
District 7 – Spencer Jones (D) ran unopposed and will face Dawn Pulliam (R) who won the Republican primary in November. District 7 incumbent Shannon Leadbetter (R) did not seek reelection.
