MD Launches 25 in 2025 Statewide Parks Challenge

The Maryland Park Service has launched the 25 in 2025 Adventure Challenge, inviting individuals and families to complete at least 25 themed activities across Maryland’s state parks by November 15, 2025.

The program showcases the park system’s rich natural and historical variety, from island hikes and lighthouse visits to disc golf and geological discoveries. Participants can mix and match challenges, and while registration isn’t required, those who donate $25 will be eligible for a prize drawing. All proceeds support park improvements, and participants are encouraged to share photos to verify their adventures.

We hope that you enjoy the thematic approach, which highlights important resources and unique features in our State Parks. Most cards have 3 to 6 different options to choose from to complete the challenge.

This statewide effort offers counties an opportunity to spotlight their local parks and attract visitors through creative engagement. Parks in nearly every region are included, and some challenges highlight specific features like historic bridges, champion trees, and geological formations unique to certain counties. Local governments can amplify the program by promoting participation through tourism offices, community events, and parks and recreation departments.
