The Caroline County Commissioners congratulated two county employees recently hired to new positions.

At their Sept. 26 meeting, Katheleen Freeman was announced as the new county administrator, and Daniel Fox assumed the newly created position of deputy county administrator.

“I want to say thank you for the opportunity to serve,” Freeman said.

Freeman, a Denton resident, has served as director of the Department of Planning and Codes for the past 15 years. She has worked in the department for 17 years.

“Danny and I are looking forward to the challenge,” she said. “Right now we are in organization mode,” moving into new offices and meeting with department heads.

She said she was “really excited” to take on her new role and “very invested” in the county.

Daniel Fox of Hartly, Delaware, serves as director of the Department of Finance and will continue in that role “for a while” as he takes on his new duties, he said.

“Well, congratulations. We look forward to working with you in these new capacities,” County Commission President Travis Breeding said.
