Each year the Department of Legislative Services (DLS) prepares a number of reports of interest to local governments.  These annual reports include The Balance Sheet, Property Tax Set-offs, County Revenue Outlook, Tax Capacity and Effort, and the Overview of Maryland Local Governments.  Annual reports can be found on the DLS website by following this link (Annual Reports).

Additionally, two state aid reports were compiled and are available on the website:  Overview of State Aid to Local Governments (Fiscal 2015 Allowance) and State Aid by Program and County – Two-year Comparison.  State aid reports can be found on the DLS website by following this link (State Aid Reports).

DLS also routinely maintains databases for key policy areas.  This includes State demographic, economic, revenue and budget, education, health, environment, and public safety data.  Many of these indicators relate to local governments.  The updated report for 2014 can be found on the DLS website by following this link (Measuring Maryland’s Progress).
