Title: Combatting the Opioid Epidemic with Data and Analytics
Description: Opioid addiction affects tens of thousands of Marylanders each year – in 2022 alone, there were more than 2400 fatal overdoses, with even more grieving loved ones left behind. In this session, attendees will learn how to leverage data sharing and advanced analytics to empower first responders and save lives, inform policy decisions, and uncover contributing factors to the crisis, such as poverty and access to health care. Speakers will delve into how other communities have measurably improved their opioid response programs through analytics and applied those insights to other community health concerns, including human trafficking and infectious disease monitoring.
