Fun Fact: Where Can You Find the Best Fireworks, Festivals, and Fun This 4th of July?

Every year on July Fourth, the United States celebrates declaring independence from Great Britain. Throughout the nation, there are parades, fireworks, concerts, barbeques, and other gatherings with family and friends.

As one of the thirteen original colonies when America was founded, Maryland has many celebrations throughout the state. Below are only a few of the areas across Maryland to find firework shows and other celebrations both on and leading up to July 4th.


Western Region

Town of Boonsboro – Independence Day Fireworks – Music and vendors in Shafer Park starting at 5 pm and fireworks at 9:30 pm.

Garrett County – Fire on the Mountain Fireworks Display – Fireworks show starting at 9:30 pm.


Capital Region

Six Flags – Coca-Cola July 4th Fest – Extended hours, live DJ, photo booth, and fireworks on July 1, 2, & 4.

Frederick’s 4th of July – The celebration will include two stages for entertainment, rides, activities, food, and fireworks, starting at noon and going until dusk.


Central Region

Fourth of July in Baltimore – Events will take place around the Inner Harbor, including food, activities, DJ, performers, a fireworks show, and more.

Cherry Hill Art & Music Waterfront Festival – There will be both in-person and virtual events, including historical reenactments, music, arts & crafts, food, fireworks, and more.

Annapolis 4th of July Celebrations – The celebration will start off with a parade and end with fireworks at night.

Howard County 4th of July Celebration – There will be live bands, food trucks, fireworks, and more.


Southern Region

Charles County Fair – Starting at 3 pm and going until 10 pm, the celebrations include pony rides, food, and live music and end with a fireworks show.

Chesapeake Beach Independence Day Celebration –  Fireworks show taking place on July 3rd.

Solomons Fireworks Celebration – Fireworks display, treasure hunt, musical performances, and aerial fly-by.


Eastern Shore

Queen Anne’s County Annual Fireworks Show – There will be a fireworks show and a DJ.

Rock Hall Fireworks Over the Harbor – Taking place on July 3rd, the fireworks show will be hosted by Rock Hall’s volunteer fire department.

St. Michaels Big Band Night and Fireworks – The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum will host Big Band Night on July 1st, followed on July 3rd by a fireworks show.

Berlin Fireworks – Fireworks show starting at dusk.

Ocean City’s Independence Day Celebration – Taking place July 2-4, Ocean City’s Sundaes in the Park concert series will feature live music and fireworks shows.
