Due July 17: Feedback on Updates to Blueprint Comprehensive Implementation Plan

The AIB is seeking public feedback on updates to its final strategic plan for how local school districts should implement the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.

The Blueprint Accountability and Implementation Board (AIB) is tasked with overseeing the implementation of Maryland’s major education policy reform initiative known as the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.

In December 2022, the AIB approved its Comprehensive Implementation Plan (CIP) to guide Blueprint implementation over the 10-year implementation period and to hold State and local entities accountable for successful implementation. The CIP was adopted following a series of public hearings in response the draft plan, and what the AIB said was 445 pieces of written testimony. Counties had expressed concern on that draft plan, indicating a greater need for detail, technical assistance, and clarification on the role of county governments in implementing the Blueprint.

Now, the Board is seeking public feedback on proposed updates to the plan:

Members of the public and stakeholders can email their suggestions to aib.submittal@maryland.gov or submit their feedback no later than Monday, July 17 here: https://bit.ly/2023BCPUpdates

The feedback form, which simply asks participants to “describe the changes that you would like to see in the updated Blueprint Comprehensive Implementation Plan,” can be submitted multiple times to highlight multiple suggestions.

The AIB will next meet as a full Board on July 20, after the July 17 CIP updates feedback deadline.

Submit feedback on the AIB’s proposed updates to the CIP.
