BGE Helps County Governments Highlight Tourism and Economic Development Efforts at #MACoCon

BGE’s generous grants to county governments are helping Maryland’s counties highlight tourism and economic development efforts at MACo’s Summer Conference Taste of Maryland Reception. Don’t miss this event, where you can experience Maryland from the mountains to the shore, all in one place!

MACo’s Taste of Maryland Reception will be held on Thursday, August 18, from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm in Exhibit Hall C (ticket required). Join us to experience tasting samples from unique and exciting venues across Maryland. Learn more about tourism destinations and agritourism ventures. Sample items like eastern shore oysters, western Maryland cheese, central Maryland beer, and southern Maryland wine, along with coffee, pickles, pretzels, cake, beef, crab, pork, veggies, breads, jams, AND MORE!

Participation from all 24 county jurisdictions made possible by BGE, who offered generous grants to the counties to offset costs and enable more participation from small businesses across the state.

  • Partnering to Power the Future – IIJA Opportunities
  • Wednesday, August 17, 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM
  • The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) offers local governments and other stakeholders an opportunity to partner with utilities on energy infrastructure investments, fleet electrification, facility resiliency, and high-speed internet. This session focuses on projects currently under development, proposed grants, and future opportunities for infrastructure investment.
