Charles Commissioners Seek Public Input on 2023 State Legislative Proposals

The Charles County Commissioners this week announced guidelines for the County Commissioners’ 2023 State Legislative Package. Any resident, group, or organization interested in submitting a legislative proposal or suggestion for revision or amendment to a Maryland law must submit a written request to the Board of Charles County Commissioners, c/o the Office of the County Attorney, by August 15, 2022.

According to a County press release:

All legislative proposals will be linked to the County website for viewing by the public and presented to the County Commissioners during a public hearing on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Anyone submitting a proposal is asked to attend the public hearing to provide a brief synopsis of the proposal and answer any questions the Board members or public may have. If the hearing is to take place virtually, further instruction will be provided regarding virtual or call-in participation.

Thereafter, all proposals will be compiled into a preliminary legislative package and reviewed by the County Commissioners at a work session on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, where they will determine which of the proposals will be included in the Charles County Commissioners’ 2023 State Legislative Package and forwarded to the Charles County Delegation in October.
