MD Cybersecurity Firms Expand Reach Abroad

Seven Maryland cybersecurity firms attended “Infosecurity Europe 2022,” a conference held in London, England, from June 21st through 23rd.

According to the Daily Record, “[w]hen the Maryland Department of Commerce heard that some Maryland-based companies were planning to attend the conference, they reached out to others to gauge their interest.” During the conference, attendees networked and established new contacts, met firms with similar products, and secured new clients. The news outlet reported the following cybersecurity firms attended Infosecurity:

  • Sicura (Baltimore City)
  • Adinkra Solutions Group (Baltimore City)
  • Sepio (Montgomery County)
  • Galaxkey (Baltimore County)

In a 2019 U.S. News and World Report article, Maryland was identified as a world leader in cybersecurity innovation, and has “the world’s largest state-trained cyber workforce, with nearly 110,000 cyber-related engineering and data science professionals.”

The issue of cybersecurity is a growing concern among government officials. During the 2022 MACo Summer Conference Tech Expo sessions “Before the Attack: Fortifying Your Cyber Defenses in the Modern World” and “After the Attack: Response Planning for System Breaches,” several experts will join together to discuss the burgeoning cybersecurity issues facing the state and our local governments.

The 2022 MACo Summer Conference, “Taking Care of Business,” will be held on August 17-20, 2022, at the Ocean City Convention Center, Ocean City, Maryland.
