Dept of Planning To Host Smart Growth Subcabinet Public Forum

The Maryland Department of Planning will be hosting a live Smart Growth Subcabinet Public Forum on Wednesday, July 20, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The Governor’s Smart Growth Subcabinet is holding a virtual public forum for county and municipal elected leaders and planning officials on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. This will be an opportunity for elected leaders and planning officials to discuss with the subcabinet local government issues relating to activities that affect smart growth, development, neighborhood conservation, and resource management.

A Better Maryland, adopted over two years ago, presents a broad vision that seeks to unite state agencies in their work, address some of the most pressing challenges facing local planners, and provide community and local leaders with the tools to change things for the better. The Smart Growth Subcabinet will have presentations from Secretary McCord, Secretary Haddaway-Riccio, Secretary Bartenfelder, Director Tung and others to hear about the work of the subcabinet to collaborate with local leaders, connect local communities to state resources and achieve results.

Following these important updates, the Smart Growth Subcabinet will hold the biannual public forum. This will be an opportunity for elected leaders and planning officials to discuss with the subcabinet local government issues relating to activities that affect smart growth, development, neighborhood conservation, and resource management.
