Chichi Nyagah-Nash to Serve as Baltimore’s New Deputy City Administrator

Today, the Scott administration announced the departure of Deputy City Administrator Daniel Ramos from the Mayor’s Office. Chichi Nyagah-Nash, currently the Director at the Department of General Services, will serve as the new Deputy City Administrator.

Scott. “Chichi has been outstanding in her various roles across the City, which have given her a deep understanding of city government operations. She demonstrates her ability as a talented leader time and time again, and I am confident she will excel in this new role. Daniel Ramos served the City of Baltimore admirably for over eight years in various capacities across city government, including the Baltimore City Fire Department, the Department of Social Services, the Bureau of the Budget and Management Research, and the Mayor’s Office. We congratulate him on his new position and wish him the best of luck in his next chapter.”

According to the City’s press release,

Ms. Nyagah-Nash holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration from Alliant International University and an MBA in Human Resources from Johns Hopkins University. Upon earning her Master’s degree, Ms. Nyagah-Nash became the Senior Program Administrator for U.S. Food Service, Inc. She administered a company-wide ethics hotline for the $20 billion company with over 26,000 employees and investigated company allegations of theft, fraud, and other related issues. In 2012, Ms. Nyagah-Nash joined DGS and held the position of Deputy Division Chief for Fleet Management for six years. While there, she managed an operating budget of $47 million and was responsible for purchasing and maintaining all City vehicles. She also developed policies and procedures to govern operational changes aimed at efficiency improvements. She has also served as Director of Special Projects at the Department of Housing & Community Development and as Assistant Deputy Director at the Department of Human Resources. In her current role as the Director of DGS, Ms. Nyagah-Nash leads an agency responsible for providing support services to the City’s Departments and Mayoral Offices in fleet management, facilities maintenance, capital construction, and energy with a $150m budget. As the backbone of all City operations, the agency strives to ensure that agencies have the vehicles and equipment they need to provide services to the City’s residents and visitors and operate out of clean, safe, and high-quality work and service locations.
