Walk the Talk: Learn about DEI and its Role in Local Governance at #MACoCon

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) have become popular buzzwords in pop culture and policy, but what do they really mean in practice for local governments?

At the MACo Winter Conference Opening Roundtable, “Exploring Opportunities for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Local Governance,” attendees will interact with an expert panel to discuss pressing challenges and opportunities for today’s local governments to “walk the talk” when it comes to DEI.

Exploring Opportunities for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Local Governance

Description: As public service providers and public employers, local governments play a unique role in shaping the lived experiences of their community members. Whether employing community members as county staff or delivering front-line services to them, counties have a vested interest in effectively incorporating and reflecting all the community members they serve. Attendees are invited to share and discuss their experiences of success and challenges when trying to incorporate DEI into county work.

  • Delora Sanchez Ifekauche, Cornerstone Government Affairs
