Hogan Appoints Cheryl S. Landis to House of Delegates

Today, Governor Larry Hogan appointed Cheryl S. Landis to the Maryland House of Delegates. The governor appointed Ms. Landis following a nomination by the Prince George’s County Democratic Central Committee.

“I am confident that Ms. Landis will represent her constituency admirably in her new role as delegate,” said Governor Hogan. “I offer her my sincere congratulations and look forward to working with her in the upcoming legislative session.”

According to Governor Hogan’s press release:

Ms. Landis worked for the Prince George’s School System for 30 years, serving for 27 years as the Strategic Business Partnerships Coordinator. Following her retirement, she was the Education Coordinator to former Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker. Landis is active in her home county, and is chair of the Prince George’s Democratic Central Committee, as well as a Democratic National Committeewoman for Maryland.

Landis will represent District 23B in Prince George’s County, filling the seat vacated by former Delegate Ron Watson, who was appointed to the Maryland Senate last month.
