Weber Appointed Somerset Health Officer

Danielle Weber, MSN, RN has been appointed as the new Health Officer for the Somerset County Health Department.

The Maryland Secretary of Health approved Weber’s nomination by the Somerset County Commissioners last week. She will step into the lead role having served as Deputy Administrative Health Officer for the Somerset County Health Department since 2019. Prior to Weber’s appointment the role of health officer for both Somerset and Wicomico Counties was held by Health Officer Lori Brewster, who will continue on with her position in Wicomico.

Commissioners for Somerset County President, Craig N. Mathies, Sr. said “The Commissioners would like to congratulate you and we thank you for your commitment to serving the residents of Somerset County.”

Ms. Weber earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management from Salisbury University. She has been with the Somerset County Health Department since1995 serving in a variety of nursing and management positions.

As Health Officer, Ms. Weber will be responsible for the oversight and management of all county public health programs, assessment, planning and monitoring of services.
