Eleanor Marie Robertson, or Nora Roberts, has called Boonsboro in Washington County home for 30 years.
Born in Silver Spring, she was the youngest of five children in a family of avid readers. She was inspired to write during a terrible snowstorm in the late 1970s. As a stay-at-home mother of two boys, and the only girl in a family of boys, she has spent most of her life surrounded by men.

“Ms. Roberts has a fairly good view of the workings of the male mind, which is a constant delight to her readers. It was, she’s been quoted as saying, a choice between figuring men out or running away screaming.”
