
The Washington County Republican Central Committee yesterday nominated Delegate Paul Corderman to replace former Senator Andrew Serafini in Maryland Senate District 2.
Serafini announced his resignation from the state Senate last month. His resignation was effective August 1.
According to the Herald-Mail:
Corderman and Del. William Wivell, R-Washington, had applied for the nomination. Corderman’s name will now be forwarded to Gov. Larry Hogan, who will make the appointment.Corderman was appointed to the House to complete the term of former Del. Brett Wilson, R-Washington, who resigned when he was appointed to the Washington County Circuit Court bench. Corderman was then elected to the seat in 2018.
The Washington County Republican Central Committee said the application process for the vacant House seat will be announced soon.
