Garrett Announces Process for At-Home Hot Spot Grant Awards

As Garrett County Public Schools edge closer to the start of school on September 8, a process has been put in place for hot spots for students.

Garrett County Public Schools (GCPS) received a grant from the Governor’s Office of Rural Broadband to expand the systems ability to provide hot spots for at-home, virtual learning. GCPS will continue to accept applications through the start of the school year, although quantities are limited.

From the press release:

Please apply for a hot spot if you currently do not have internet access, or if you feel your internet access is not sufficient for virtual learning. The applications will be used to prioritize distribution, as we will not be provided enough for every individual household. To apply online, please fill out the form below. If you have trouble accessing the form, you may apply via phone, toll-free at 1-888-285-7254. This line is open Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm. If you do not reach us, please leave a voicemail, and we will return your call as soon as possible. Please note that this hotline is intended only for hot spot applications.
