The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development recently awarded Wicomico County a $1,177,120 COVID-19 relief grant. With the adoption of Resolution No. 54-2020, the Wicomico County Council today authorized County Executive Bob Culver to accept the award.
The grant will provide senior food assistance and emergency rental assistance to Wicomico County residents. The funds will be allocated to three organizations, $177,120 to Maintaining Active Citizens, Inc. (MAC Inc.), $500,000 to the Wicomico County Local Management Board, and $500,000 to Habitat for Humanity Wicomico County.
The Wicomico County Department of Planning, Zoning, & Community Development will oversee and manage the grant.
