MACo’s Corporate Partners are doing extraordinary work across the region to assist members and their communities during the coronavirus crisis. To show our gratitude, MACo will post a series of blog articles to highlight their efforts.
MACo’s Gold Corporate Partner BGE is partnering with Baltimore City to provide electrical services to COVID-19 drive-thru testing sites.
From BGE’s website:
BGE crews and contractors installed new equipment in a parking lot at Pimlico Race Course to power lighting and refrigeration for Baltimore City’s first drive-thru COVID-19 testing site.
Plans for a second testing site are underway. BGE is working with the city to supply power to that site as well.
BGE continues to support critical reliability needs of health care operations during the pandemic. In March, BGE proactively inspected electric equipment on 116 miles of overhead lines that serve hospitals and other major medical facilities across the company’s service area to identify and address any issues that could cause an outage.
This is just one of the initiatives BGE has implemented to support their service area during the pandemic. As featured in This Week on Conduit Street, MACo’s weekly newsletter, BGE also recently partnered with six local caterers to provide food for front-line workers and first responders at eight hospitals and seventeen fire-stations across Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, Howard, and Montgomery Counties and Baltimore City.
