Maryland voters who want to receive a mail-in ballot by mail or fax must submit their request by October 27 for the 2026 Gubernatorial General Election. Voters requesting electronic delivery have until October 30.
The Maryland State Board of Elections is reminding voters to plan for the November 3 general election. Mail-in ballot requests must be received, not simply mailed, by the applicable deadline.
Voters can request a mail-in ballot online. Ballots returned through the mail must carry a postmark no later than 8:00 pm on Election Day, November 3.
Voters may also return completed ballots at an early voting center during early voting, at a ballot drop box, or directly to a local board of elections. Hand-delivered ballots must arrive by 8:00 pm on November 3.
Early voting runs from Thursday, October 22 through Thursday, October 29, with voting centers open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm each day. Voters may also cast ballots at their assigned polling place on Election Day from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
Voters can find early voting centers, ballot drop boxes, polling places, and other election information at vote.md.gov/vote2026. Voters can also track their mail-in ballot status.
