Queen Anne’s Hosts “Ask a Commissioner” Forum

Yesterday, Queen Anne’s County Commissioners held an “Ask a Commissioner” live forum to answer questions from the community. Commissioners Chris Corchiarino and Jim Moran were joined by Queen Anne’s County Health Officer Dr. Joseph Ciotola.

Residents had the opportunity to ask questions through email or commenting on the livestream and were not limited to only COVID-19 related topics. The Commissioners and Dr. Ciotola answered questions on topics including testing availability, zipcode specific case numbers, the county budget, and more.

Dr. Ciotola described the difficulties the county has seen regarding testing. He says it is improving, and the county now has results in about three to four days. The Commissioners urged residents to take precautions and adhere to social distancing guidelines and the Governor’s executive order, regardless of whether they see cases appearing in their home zipcode. The Commissioners also gave some ideas on how they would like to see certain businesses begin to re-open in the future.

The Commissioners thanked the community for doing their best to comply with guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus. To view the recorded livestream, visit Queen Anne’s County TV’s YouTube page.
