Caroline County Public Schools today announced the availability of free Wifi in front and/or side parking lots of all schools. Families and students may visit any school parking lot between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm.
“This is a way to provide access to our students and families who do not have the internet at home,” said Dr. Patty Saelens, Superintendent of Schools. “Our technology staff, instruction, and safety and security staff planned and completed this project in less than two weeks. Their work to enable the Continuity of Learning plan to move forward has been invaluable.”
According to a press release:
YOU MUST STAY IN YOUR CAR AT ALL TIMES SO AS NOT TO VIOLATE THE GOVERNOR’S ORDER
Please note:
- Internet access is free; no password is required.
- Internet can be accessed by selecting ‘Parking Lot Wifi’ on a device.
- Visitors should park facing the school in order to obtain the strongest signal possible.
Caroline County Sheriff’s Office and town police will regularly patrol the parking lots. The school system uses video surveillance to monitor parking lots and the exteriors of all schools. Schools remain closed to the public, and only essential staff members are working on a limited basis.
