Anne Arundel Revives Community Grant Program

Anne-Arundel-County-SealAnne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman has reestablished the county’s Community Grant Program.

Grants may be awarded to applicants that meet one or more of several priorities including providing services to underserved populations, addressing the health and wellbeing of communities, and promoting equity and inclusion.

From The Baltimore Sun:

The Community Grant Program was a long-standing tradition in the county that provided funding to local nonprofits for operational needs or capital projects. Before it was phased out under a previous county executive, the county awarded around $1.9 million per year to local nonprofits.

The exact amount of money that will be available for the grants in the upcoming budget has not been decided yet, Pittman said, but he expects it to be similar to in years past. The county is accepting applications for grants now through 4 p.m. April 15.
