Large County Coalition to Discuss Diversity in Local Procurement at #MACoCon

During their annual MACo Large County Coalition Winter Conference Luncheon, representatives from Maryland’s large counties will discuss best practices for increasing supplier diversity in local procurement. Simply put, supplier diversity aims to create an inclusive supply chain comprised of diverse vendors, such as women-, minority-, and veteran-owned businesses.

The mission of the Large County Coalition is to promote collegiality and cooperation, share information, and develop strategic alliances among Maryland counties with populations greater than 200,000. The Coalition works to ensure that representation in government is equal for all Marylanders, no matter where they reside. All MACo members (county officials and employees) are invited to attend this meeting to discuss issues of interest to large counties.

The MACo Large County Coalition Winter Conference Luncheon takes place on Thursday, December 5th from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm. RSVPs are requested to Prince George’s County Council Member Mel Franklin at mfranklin1@co.pg.md.us or 301-952-3820.

The 2019 MACo Winter Conference, Building for the Future,” will be held on December 4-6, 2019, at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Hotel in Cambridge, Maryland.
