Washington County hosted its inaugural Student Government Day, where students spent the day experiencing and learning about local government in Washington County. Six students from Washington County public schools received an introduction from County divisions and departments, attended the Board of County Commissioners meeting, had lunch with the County Commissioners, Delegate William Wivell, and Delegate Paul Corderman, and discussed opportunities for involvement in the community.

The County plans to host more Student Government Days in the future.
