Washington County’s Clean Street Sweeper Program Hits Major Milestone

The Washington County Division of Environmental Management recently announced that the Clean County street sweeper is well on its way to hitting the million-pound milestone. In just four months, the street sweeper has collected over 500,000 pounds of debris and trash. This collection effort is part of the Clean County Initiative that promotes Clean Streets, Clean Streams, Clean County.

According to a press release:

County Administrator Rob Slocum commented on the achievement of this milestone, “In a few short months, the Clean County Team has now collected over 500,000 pounds of litter and debris in our County! That’s 500,000 pounds that will not be going into our streams or our groundwater. Making Washington County a better place to Live, Work, and Play!”
