Report Analyzes Challenges and Offers Solutions for Eastern Shore Counties

The Maryland Center on Economic Policy has released a new report, “Sustaining Strong Communities on Maryland’s Eastern Shore,” which keys in on the economic challenges faced by the Eastern Shore Counties and proposes ways leaders can overcome those barriers.

The Salisbury Daily Times reports:

Maryland is the wealthiest state in the U.S., “but that doesn’t mean everyone’s doing well,” Orr said.

The Eastern Shore study shows an older population, with less education, fewer employment opportunities, limited access to health care and a need for better education funding, Orr said.

The report has been shared with state legislators and candidates, and following the election will also be shared with county-level elected officials.
