Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner has announced plans to encourage the establishment of a detox center to help county residents struggling with addiction.
The county is soliciting proposals from interested non-profit or public sector providers. Grants to help fund start-up expenses will be available to the selected provider.
As announced in a news release:
Executive Gardner designated $500,000 in the fiscal year 2019 budget for the grant. In addition, the Frederick County Health Department may provide up to $210,000 in grants toward the establishment of a detox center. As an option, the County will make available separate space within the Frederick County Work Release Center as a potential location for the center, if a provider is interested in using the facility.
