Former Water Management Administration Director Lynn Buhl has been promoted to Assistant Secretary within the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE). In her new position, Buhl will oversee both the Water Management Administration and the Science Services Administration. Science Services Administration Director D. Lee Curry has shifted over to become the new Water Management Administration Director. Matt Rowe will take Curry’s place as the new Science Services Administration Director.
Buhl is an environmental attorney with experience on Capitol Hill and at the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, and the Chrysler Corporation. She moved to Annapolis in 2003 to serve in Governor Bob Erlich’s administration at MDE. She rejoined MDE in April, 2015 as a Senior Policy Advisor to Secretary Ben Grumbles and became Water Management Administration Director in September, 2015.
