Montgomery County Offers New, Free Online High School & Career Certification Program

Montgomery County Public Libraries now offers a new, free online high school and career certification program.

According to WJLA.com,

Adrienne Van Lare of Montgomery County Public Libraries explains, “It is an online high school diploma and career certification program that Montgomery County Public Libraries is currently offering for free to residents who are 19 years of age and older.”

From Gaithersburg , Washington Grove to Rockville, more than 60,000 adults over the age of 25 currently lack a high school diploma in Montgomery County.

Students in the Career Online High School are paired with an academic coach and have 18 months to finish the program. Courses focus on one of eight career fields from education to transportation while also covering traditional subjects like math and science.


The Prince George’s County Memorial Library System also offers a Career Online High School.
