MACo Invites Nominations for Public Service and Best Practices Awards

MACo invites county elected officials and staff to submit nominations for the Marilyn J. Praisner Public Service Award and the County Best Practices Award.

Cecil County Peer Recovery Program with their County Best Practices Awardard.Both awards are designed to recognize excellence in county government. The County Best Practices Award celebrates superb and innovative county programs that improve overall quality-of-life and service delivery for a county’s residents. The Marilyn J. Praisner Public Service Award was established in memory of MACo Past President and former Montgomery County Council Member, Marilyn J. Praisner. This distinct honor recognizes a current or former county elected official for exemplary service to the county, his or her constituents, and MACo.

Award nominations should be completed and submitted to the Academy for Excellence in Local Governance through the University of Maryland School of Public Policy no later than October 6, 2016.

Award winners will be celebrated at MACo’s Winter Conference Inaugural Banquet & Awards Ceremony on Thursday, December 8, 2016 in the company of approximately 400 county elected officials and staff, legislators, State and Federal officials, and the Governor.
