Did you know that approximately 60% of the federal government’s grant dollars are awarded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services? — That’s more than all of the other federal agencies combined, according to a presentation offered by the Maryland Governor’s Grants Office.
Grant funding can provide fundamental resources to human services agencies and fund targeted services. Finding, applying for, and managing grants are all elements of effective grants strategy.
At this year’s MACo Conference, M4A, the Maryland Association of Area Agencies on Aging and the Maryland Association of Human Services Officers are sponsoring, Tapping Grant Opportunities to Meet Community Needs, where attendees will hear how to access additional funding opportunities directly and through the Maryland Department of Human Resources. Join us on Friday, August 14, 2015, from 1-2 pm at the Ocean City Convention Center to learn how to tap into new grant resources and reap their full benefit.
Speakers will include Merril E. Oliver, Director, Maryland Governor’s Grants Office, Greg James, Deputy Secretary, Department of Human Resources, and Elizabeth Weglein, President, United Seniors of Maryland.
The Honorable Thomas (Mac) Middleton, Chair, Finance Committee, Maryland Senate will moderate the panel discussion and facilitate questions from the audience.
