Maryland’s $15.4 billion tourism industry is seeing significant growth and prosperity. As reported in MD Biz News:
According to data from a national survey of travelers, Maryland welcomed more than 38 million domestic visitors in 2014, which is an increase of nearly 6 percent from 2013 and up more than 40 percent since 2007. The survey was conducted by D.K. Shifflet and Associates, a leading tourism industry research firm.
Even more impressive is that the growth in tourism has occurred in both business and leisure travel to Maryland, as well as day trips and overnight stays. And, Maryland has increased its market share by nearly 12 percent since 2007, outperforming national and regional trends.
