MACo and MML joined a meeting hosted by the Governor’s Grants Office for grants stakeholders from around the State to discuss a strategy for positive changes and outcomes in Maryland communities.
Representatives of Maryland Nonprofits, the Community Foundation of Howard County, People for Change Coalition, and the Association for Baltimore Area Grantmakers joined the Governor’s Grants Office and MACo and MML in Annapolis. Members of other community foundations around the State are invited to attend future meetings.
The group considered Maryland’s receipt of federal grant funding as compared to other states and considered four priority areas for targeting additional grant funding. The group also discussed ways to maximize federal and state resources, including reviewing projects receiving State matching funds, finding competitive federal grant opportunities that accept in-kind matching funds, and partnering on grant programs. Transportation was considered a top priority for grant funding.
