Montgomery County Council Member Craig Rice and Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner are featured on the latest edition of County Cable Montgomery’s television show, “No Boundaries“.

According to a press release from the Montgomery County Council,

Montgomery County Council Member Craig Rice and Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner talked about how their interests in education have driven their legislative careers—and about their lives that the public would not normally see…

Council Member Rice, who chairs the Montgomery Council’s Education Committee, and County Executive Gardner, who is the first-ever Frederick County Executive, talked about similarities that have shaped their lives, including each having parents who were in education. Each worked for Fortune 500 businesses before they considered becoming elected officials and they discussed representing areas generally considered rural, but that are experiencing areas of growth at rapid rates. Another subject was their passion for libraries and how they both believe that libraries will evolve with new services that continue to make them centerpieces of communities. They also talked about the need to balance the time demands of being elected officials while being the parents of children at home.

The leaders also talked about their devotion to making sure small business owners have access to what they need to succeed. Economic development issues—which sometimes put their counties in competition with each other—also were show topics.
