Wicomico County Attorney Ed Baker Announces Retirement

A March 10 DelmarvaNow article reported that Wicomico County Attorney Ed Baker will be retiring in June.  Baker has been an active member with MACo’s attorney affiliate and provided important feedback to MACo staff on legal and legislative issues affecting county governments.  From the article:

Baker, who has worked as the county’s attorney for one form or another since 1981, when the county offered a $5,000 salary for its attorney, according to Human Resources Director Michelle Ennis. He also saw the county transition its form of government to adopt the executive branch in 2006.

County executive assistant Susan Cropper said that in his [retirement] letter, Baker spoke about choosing to stay on to fulfill the rest of his obligations to the county for fiscal year 2015 and how he wants to work on completing some of the items on his own “bucket list.”
