MACo’s Winter Conference opened this morning with a “Newly Elected Officials Orientation.” During the half day program, newly elected county officials learned about local government structure and budgeting, and participated in a roundtable mentoring session to learn from seasoned elected officials about duties, responsibilities, and challenges they will face over the next four years.

Local officials also had the opportunity to learn about their role in working with the General Assembly and MACo; and the value of building relationships to be successful.
