Earlier this month, the White House held a summit focused on the education of children between birth and age five. The White House also provided a fact sheet, which includes a breakdown of funding announced at the summit.
In addition, a report, titled The Economics of Early Childhood Investments was also released at the summit; it is a thorough study of the impacts and importance of early childhood education, and concludes in part that investments in early education work to reduce achievement gaps, boost the economy, decrease the involvement of youth with the justice system and improve the employment prospects of mothers.
