4 MACo Winter Conference Activities You Should Pre-Register to Attend

1. Newly Elected Officials Orientation – this half-day of training on January 7 from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm is part of Winter Conference, but is only available for newly elected county government officials. Learn more at www.mdcounties.org/WC15NEOO and email Allison Valliant if you plan to attend the Orientation.

2. Closing General Session: “The County Official’s Guide to Lobbying in Annapolis” – this interactive and informative session on January 9 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm will feature a live team exercise in lobbying a panel of legislators. Spaces are limited to participate in the exercise – sign up today by contacting Allison Valliant. Those who do not pre-register to participate may observe from the audience.

3. Maryland County Officials Diversity Caucus Reception – all MACo Winter Conference registrants are invited to attend this reception to learn more about minority and diversity issues in Maryland. The reception will be held on January 8 from 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm – please email Natasha Mehu if you plan to attend the reception.

4. Women of MACo Luncheon – female elected and appointed officials registered for MACo’s Winter Conference are invited to attend this luncheon on January 7 from 11:45 am – 12:45 am. Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Mayor of Baltimore City, will address the guests. Attendees must have a Thursday lunch ticket to attend this event.
