Six County Officials Advance to State Positions

Of the 8 county elected officials who won in the primary elections, 6 won and will be advancing to State positions.

Here are the results of those county elected officials who ran for State positions in the general election:

  • Allegany County Commissioner Michael McKay won in the general election for Delegate District 1C.
  • Caroline County Commissioner Jeff Ghrist won in the general election for Delegate District 36.
  • Carroll County Commissioner Haven Shoemaker won in the general election for Delegate District 5.
  • Frederick County Commissioner C. Paul Smith lost in the general election for Delegate District 3A.
  • Harford County Council Member Mary Ann Lisanti won in the general election for Delegate District 34A.
  • Howard County Executive Ken Ulman lost in the general election for Lieutenant Governor.
  • Prince George’s County Council Member Will Campos won in the general election for Delegate District 47B.
  • Wicomico County Council Member Sheree Sample-Hughes won in the general election for Delegate District 37A.
