Unofficial results of the State Board of Elections report that 57.8% Charles County voters voted against adoption of a charter form of government in Charles County. 42.2% voted in favor of the ballot question.
As described by Southern Maryland News Online,
An overwhelming number of voters cast their ballots against Question A’s charter government at the polls during the general election Tuesday, ending the county’s current proceedings to transition from code home rule to a charter form of government.
