As previously reported on Conduit Street, Governor Martin O’Mallley and Lt. Governor Anthony Brown have requested that the Maryland Sustainable Growth Commission study and propose a State policy to encourage infill, redevelopment, and revitalization. The Infill, Redevelopment, and Revitalization (IRR) policy will likely have both spending and regulatory components. MACo has formed an internal workgroup to study the issue and provide county input.
The Maryland Department of Planning anticipates spending substantial time on the issue at the June 5 Maryland Planning Director’s Roundtable.
The Roundtable is scheduled from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Morgan State University at the Center for Built Environment and Infrastructure Studies (5300 Perring Parkway, Baltimore, MD 21218).
