At this year’s annual MACo conference, our plenary session on education is about more than just education. Issues of public health, workplace, family and community will all be addressed in the session, “Schoolyard and Beyond: Understanding and Standing Up to Bullying,” as MACo recently confirmed the attendance of Dr. Jorge Srabstein, international expert on the topic of bullying and public health.
Jorge C. Srabstein, MD is the Medical Director of the Clinic for Health Problems Related to Bullying at the Children’s National Medical Center. He has testified on Capitol Hill about the connection between bullying and public health problems in our society, and audiences in Paris and Amsterdam. His recent scholarly work, “Bullying is everywhere: an expanding scope of public health concerns,” describes his theory of how bullying, which may often occur first between siblings in the home, can spill over into issues in schools, the workforce, and in romantic relationships.
MACo is pleased to host Dr. Srabstein at our 2013 Summer Conference. You may register now for Saturday’s education session.
